Fitzroy Falls and some very daring Lyrebirds, NSW (13th May 2011)

Headed to the north end of Kangaroo Valley to look at Fitzroy Falls – wow pretty spectacular but cold up there in’t mountains! We came across a pair of Lyrebirds which is amazing as they are supposed to be shy! These birds are renowned for their mimicry of our bird sounds and can make the sound of a chainsaw as well! They have long, lacey, curved tail feathers – or at least the male birds does. Needless to say the two we spotted just ignored us and kept scratching for grubs and did’nt give us a show!

Fitzroy Falls from a long way up!!
