We camped at a pretty river estuary just north of Hervey Bay and Fraser Island for 2 days recommended by a fellow camper at Mooloolaba. Good fishing spot! Paul caught a big Flathead about 3lbs 9 that’s a fish with a very flathead!)
Just before dusk however the campsite became like a scene out of a remake of Hitchcock’s ‘The Birds’ – thousands of Rainbow Lorikeets (cute when you see one or two) zoomed in and around the trees making a loud screeching noise as they fought for branch space. Amazing sight although as you can imagine once they flew off again in the morning tents, campers and vans got really dumped on – leaving us all to mop up!!
