A town called 1770, Agnes Water, QLD (22nd to 24th June 2011)

Yes there is a town called 1770! Captain ( Lieutenant at the time he landed) James Cook landed here on 14th May 1770,  hence  the Aussies called it 1770! Its a beautiful spot but must have been tricky to navigate to land as there are sand spits everywhere. Apparently though he landed further round the bay. We cycled all the way along the beach between 1770 and our campsite at Agnes Water – good firm sand!

Great fun cycling along beach back to Agnes Water

Land ahoy.... 1770, Agnes Water!
