We leave the lush green rainforests of Atherton and head west to t’Outback where your mobile signal is non existent, its hot, dry and there’s alot of long straight roads with no end! The other hazards are cattle wandering along the roads and big road trains up to 53 metres that will swallow Hilda whole if you let them! We drove for 6 hours on these roads to try and get to Normanton and start to knock off the 2800 kilometres to reach Darwin in time to meet Barry and family on 17th August.
