Mount Isa, mining town of Outback Queensland (7th August 2011)

Stopped at Mount Isa to recharge our own travel weary batteries. Its a large mining town in the middle of the Outback, mining lead, copper and zinc (nice!). Campsite was green and shady but the town itself a regional service centre relying on the still very active mines. Met a British guy who had come over to Australia for three weeks to demonstrate special ventilation helmets to the miners, going to other mines around the country ( British made!).
